Partners began researching how the model could grow. The original history describes examining more than 25 programs in 15 cities, followed by visits to four programs.

Emerald Trail Corps began restructuring for expansion in 2015. After using the working name Pittsburgh Conservation Corps, the organization adopted the name Landforce in early 2016.

The Mill adds responsible wood production to Landforce’s work, connecting local material recovery with opportunities for training and employment.
